Small Business Saturday

The infamous Black Friday signifies deep discounts, big crowds and long lines for shoppers and reportedly accounts for over $10 billion in revenue. For the best technology deals, shoppers wait until Cyber Monday to snatch up the latest and greatest by shopping online.

But now small businesses have started the newest trend in holiday shopping with Small Business Saturday.

After feeling left out from all the hustle and bustle that the large chains experience on Black Friday, small businesses are launching their own special savings day to bring revenue back to their local communities.

American Express has jumped aboard to help draw national attention. Besides advertising, they are also offering a $25 incentive to the first 100,000 customers who use their card at a small business on Saturday.

Facebook is also helping local businesses spread the word with an opportunity for $100 in advertising for the first 10,000 takers. To qualify, your business must accept American Express, have a fan page on Facebook, and earn no more than $10 million in revenue a year.

So get in the action and help bring more business to local outlets by joining in this movement. By advertising your Small Business Saturday discounts you can help turn this new event into an annual tradition.
